This phone has already become one of the most popular representatives of its line. Due to the unusual appearance and reasonable price, Asha 503 outperforms its direct competitors in the budget category.
Design of Nokia Asha 503
Many experts have noted an attractive design, due to which the device is very much like a delicious and colorful lollipop. Such a result could be achieved through covering the main (color) layer by thicker transparent plastic. It turns out some ice effect. Corners of the phone are straight and back edges are intentionally rounded to improve ergonomics. The device is quite compact and easily fits in your hand. The density of the assembly gives a sense of the monolith.
Key controls are located as comfortable as possible. Traditionally, volume button and the “On” button (Lock button) are on the right side.
The headphone and micro USB connectors are on the top.
The screen is decorated with black wide. Under the screen is only one key “Back”.
A 5-megapixel camera and LED flash are on the back cover of the phone. Under the cover are the slots for the microSIM-cards and microSD card.
Display + Camera of Nokia Asha 503
Display is one of the disadvantages of the phone. Small 3” diagonal and the resolution of 240×320 pixels are transmitted only 262 thousand hues. The display is not hypersensitive; weak software does not allow reacting quickly to the touch. The screen is protected by glass of Gorilla Glass.
For a budget phone the camera’s performance is good enough: autofocus, flash and 5 megapixel matrix. The images are in the amount of 2592×1944. Video is shot with a resolution of 640×480 pixels.
Hardware and Autonomy
Manufacturer has hidden a type of processor (perhaps because of its extraordinariness). PLO is only 128 MB that is enough with such graphical parameters. One should note the small built-in memory. To expand it you can use a memory card microSD (up to 32GB). The battery of 1200 mAh capacity is enough for 2 days without charging the phone.
Software of Nokia Asha 503
Traditionally, this device uses the Asha software platform. In this case, there used the latest updated version of Asha OS 1.1. Interface was borrowed from the WP, what has been done to win potential buyers favor to the original operating system from Microsoft. Beautiful and smart user interface, of course, are the main advantages of Smart. But the developers could not combine all this in a reasonable way.
Asha 503 manages unitary features on “5 scores”. The phone (more suitable for it classification than the “smart phone”) is designed to buyers’ emotional outbursts wishing to purchase a nice “toy lollipop.”
In addition, the phone supports two SIM cards, which is important for countries such as Ukraine, where the use of several mobile communication operators become the norm.
